Maria actually began her love of the arts as a child actor in film and theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she was born and raised.  After years of exploring several different disciplines in the film industry - both in front of and behind the camera - she has found her true calling in the Special Effects makeup realm.

 She is a graduate of the well respected Make-up Designory School (MUD) in Burbank, California, and quickly thereafter, Maria has completed the necessary requirements to qualify to join the Make-Up Artist Guild I.A.T.S.E. Local 706 union. 

 

Currently, Maria is freelancing in all mediums such as film/television, media and live events, transforming visions into reality. Her specialties include character design, prosthetic application, airbrushing and sculpting. From modern beauty to period makeup as well as gore and blood.

 

In just a brief time, Maria has won awards for her impressive work and she continues to bring her passionate and natural artistic abilities as she is dedicated to bring high impact realistic visions to film & television.
